My favorite comedian of all time, George Carlin, passed on yesterday at the tender age of 71. I read the news online early this morning.
He is going to be greatly missed in my household. My son isn't really old enough for George's comedy yet, but he'll get to listen to it soon enough. Yes, George could be crass and profane, but he always told it like it was. He never held back any thoughts, criticisms or praise on any subject, and that's what made him such a joy to listen to. I even went to his website today, and was looking at the various information about all the things he did with his career. About the only thing I wasn't aware of is his brief stint in the US Air Force.
I guess you could say he did all the things I always wished I was brave enough to do, and with more style and tenacity than most people I know. I will mourn him for a long while.
