When I moved to Texas 2 years ago, I saw all kinds of signs for something called "kolaches". I asked around to many people about "kolaches", but no one seemed to know what they were.
Finally, a few days ago, I stopped with a friend of mine at a local area Schlotzky's Deli for lunch. I looked at the menu, and they had "kolaches" listed. Under the title, they showed a picture of what we Americans call "pigs in a blanket". Suffice it to say I was sorely disappointed. With such an "exotic" name, I expected a slightly more "exotic" food.
